The Presidio, an Activated Landscape
For-Site is innovating the first art commissions and exhibitions for a National Park beginning here in the Presidio. Last year, with the Presidio Trust, Andy Goldsworthy erected Spire from 37 felled Cypress trees that were part of the reforestation process. And this weekend, is the opening for Presidio Habitat with art commissions and an exhibition of proposals by artists. I’m very excited to see international superstar Ai Wei Wei’s porcelain Owl houses and CEBRA’s ziggurat-shaped fox dwelling (pictured above).
There will be food and an official ribbon cutting at Noon.
Festivities last until 4pm this Sunday.
Installation will exist for one year.
Special Thanks to Haines Gallery for the heads up.
