In Bloom
I’m off to the City of Roses tomorrow, my hometown of Portland so I wanted to head out with a floral posting of two beautiful gestures: The Metropolitan Museum in New York has mounted a romantic show of over 75 of Ellsworth Kelly’s plant drawings-a rarely seen counterpoint to his color block shape paintings and Sol Lewitt’s living installation Lines in Four Directions in Flowers, planted originally by the Philadelphia Art Museum in 1981, has sprung again at the Reilley Memorial in Fairmount Park. This garden artwork will continue for another eight seasons.
If you’re heading out East for vacation be sure to check these two delightful sightings~
