Coinciding with the Berlin biennial,  my dear friend, the artist and photographer, musician and avant garde visionary Mark Borthwick has produced a small installation occupying the back of the new Comme des Garçons store, entitled Fountains of Ardor. The installation collages together Borthwick’s photographs and polaroids, with flowers, drawings and poems. Fountains of Ardor runs through to May 24th.
I rarely have met someone so unique, who has the sensibilities to make something that influences a generation of artists. His instinctive minimalism and brutally open improvised approach to everything he does is a breath of fresh air. Mark is an animal in the noblest sense… true to his calling and the universe he inhabits.
