An eclair, creamy surrounded by two pastries
“Lifting Belly is erotic.
Lifting Belly is a fire.
Lifting Belly is a mythology.”
It’s been such a pleasure researching Stein’s works while I prepare for “Sno in the Desert / Dessert & Groping the Present” the all women arts symposium and retreat I’m producing for the Living Arts Fund May 5th, 6th at Ace Hotel Palm Springs. It’s also so wonderful to catch up with women artists that I haven’t engaged with in such a long time and in this new way, as we approach a panel discussion as engaging sculptures and what I’m calling an “Improvised Exhibition”; Eve Fowler making signs, Margaret Tedesco streaming and culling,… more soon. I love the process of curation. For me, it is so organic it grows and responds, absorbs and forms like bubbles in bubbles each sticking to each other making a giant, wobbly wisp constantly changing, balancing.
Our bellies will lift as women. Our bellies will lift in the desert full of life. They will float proudly.
“Lifting belly naturally celebrates.
Lifting belly remarks.
Every little bun is of honey.
My little bun is so funny.
Of course we can have the hill.”
